Delight in the ample storage space, thanks to a new electronic handbrake that allows for an ergonomically placed gear shifter and new media bin at the base of the easy-to navigate center console. In addition to all the voice-activated benefits of SYNC® – placing and answering calls, and controlling music from your devices – you’ll love the new easy-to-use interface of SYNC®3. It's 8-inch color touchscreen displays phone, audio and navigation features, with enhanced voice recognition that lets you give simple commands. The capacitive touchscreen includes a convenient swipe feature, as well as pinch-to-zoom functionality within navigation.

Ford’s next generation of voice-activated technology – SYNC® 3* – makes music selection, phone calls and navigation1 a breeze. Its easy-to-read touch screen works just like a smartphone, allowing you to search, swipe and pinch to zoom. Enhanced voice recognition lets you talk with simple voice commands, and the system responds naturally to your voice. Hands-free calling lets you make a call with a simple push of a button along with the sound of your voice. All the while, automatic updates over Wi-Fi®* let you keep SYNC® 3 up-to-date with the latest software as soon as new updates become available. * Available feature. Don’t drive while distracted. EXTRA SET OF EYES
The ESCAPE’s wide-angle rear-view camera automatically activates when the reverse gear is selected. It gives you a clear view of what’s behind you and takes the guess work out of reversing.

AUTO-STOP/START¹
Even if you could improve your fuel economy by 4–10%², could you really be bothered turning your engine off every time you come to a standstill at lights or in traffic? Of course not. So the ESCAPE does it for you – automatically. 1. Auto-Stop/Start functionality is derivative dependent. 2. Tested on 2.0L GDTi AWD engines.
LET THE SUN SHINE IN
The ESCAPE’s panoramic glass roof* takes up 50% of the roof space, allowing you to bring the outdoors in, at the touch of a button. * Panoramic glass roof optional on SE and Titanium derivatives.
SPACE THAT WORKS FOR YOU
The spacious ESCAPE becomes even roomier when you fold down the 60:40 split rear seats. Fold down one seat to fit those extra pieces of luggage, and still have room for passengers. Fold both seats flat to carry a bigger load in the very sizeable 1,653 liters of space. There’s even a hidden compartment for valuables. Additionally, you can lower the floor to make the storage space deeper, or raise it with the rear seats folded down to create a flat load floor.

The standard Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and 7 airbags mean the New Escape is designed to help you steer clear of an accident, or, if a collision is unavoidable, to help minimize its potential consequences. The ESCAPE’s seven airbags – including side-curtain airbags – offer 360-degrees of protection for both front and backseat passengers.

POWERED BY INNOVATION
Choose from two advanced petrol engines. The FWD 2.5L iVCT provides effortless power and refinement. The AWD 2.0L EcoBoost® incorporates direct fuel injection with turbocharging and variable valve timing to offer the performance of a large engine with the fuel efficiency of a small engine. Both new Escape engines come with automatic transmission.
HANDS-FREE ‘OPEN SESAME’ TAILGATE
Simply kick your foot under the back bumper to open the hands-free tailgate.
TRACTION WHERE YOU NEED IT
The ESCAPE’s Intelligent AWD* system monitors each wheel, and increases or decreases the amount of torque to optimize grip and handling in all conditions. A display in your instrument panel lets you see how the system is performing, by giving you a graphic illustration of the power distribution between all four wheels. This isn’t just any All-Wheel-Drive (AWD)*. But this isn’t the only technology working to keep you effortlessly connected to the road. Torque Vectoring Control automatically transfers torque to the wheels with the most grip. The front end hugs the inside of every bend for superb handling, virtually eliminating under-steering. SET YOUR OWN PACE
Long drives are more relaxing with Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Mitigation because, once you’ve set your desired speed, it adjusts your speed if the vehicle in front is traveling more slowly, returning you to your previously specified speed once the way ahead is clear.
BLIND SPOTS ARE A THING OF THE PAST
BLIS® with cross-traffic alert uses a light embedded in each side-view mirror3 to warn you about traffic detected in blind spots as you’re driving forward, or traffic nearing either side as you’re slowly backing up. Wherever you drive, you can be confident that the New Escape is watching out for you. BLIS replaces standard integrated blind spot mirrors.
PARALLEL PARKING MADE EASY
With Active Park Assist1, simply push a button and let the sensors locate a suitable parking space as you drive past. The system will then steer the vehicle into the space while you control the gear shifter, and brake and accelerator pedals.2 And Park Out Assist helps you exit in the same way. 1. Available feature.
